Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Michael Jackson, died suddenly, preliminary reports are cardiac arrest, June 25th in L.A.

Performing since the age of 11, he was set to commence 50 concert dates, beginning at the "02" in London in Mid-July.

Original. Talented. Creative. Inspiring. World-famous. U are the "king." We mourn your passing.

One of our fav MJ tunes released amid controversy in 1991, is Black or White.

 Black or White - 1991

I took my baby On a Saturday bang Boy is that girl with you Yes we're one and the same /
Now I believe in miracles  And a miracle Has happened tonight /
But, if  You're thinkin' About my baby It don't matter if you're Black or white

They print my message  In the saturday sun I had to tell them I ain't second to none /
And I told about equality An it's true Either you're wrong Or you're right /
But, if  You're thinkin' About my baby It don't matter if you're Black or white

I am tired of this devil I am tired of this stuff I am tired of this business /
Sew when the Going gets rough I ain't scared of Your brother I ain't scared of no sheets I ain't scared of nobody /
Girl when the Goin' gets mean

(L.T.B)
Protection For gangs, clubs, And nations Causing grief in Human relations /
It's a turf war On a global scale /
I'd rather hear both sides Of the tale /
See, it's not about races Just places Faces /
Where your blood Comes from Is where your space is /
I've seen the bright Get duller /
I'm not going to spend My life being a color /

Don't tell me you agree With me When I saw you Kicking dirt in my eye /
But, if  You're thinkin' About my baby It don't matter if you're Black or white

I said if You're thinkin' of Being my baby It don't matter if you're Black or white

I said if You're thinkin' of Being my brother It don't matter if you're Black or white

Ooh, ooh. Yea, yea, yea now . Ooh, ooh.  Yea, yea, yea now

It's black, it's white It's tough for you to get by It's black, it's white, whoo

It's black, it's white It's tough for you to get by It's black, it's white, whoo

The Bigger Snap Shot for 1991

It was the year that grunge music made its popular breakthrough.  Nirvana's Nevermind, led by the surprise hit single "Smells Like Teen Spirit", became the most popular U.S. album of the year. Followed immediately by other grunge bands like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, grunge dominated the U.S. charts for the next few years. Its success effectively ended pop-oriented, 1980s hair metal groups like Def Leppard, Guns 'n' Roses, Mötley Crüe,  Poison and Ratt, whose sales and critical viability were beginning to decline for about two previous years and also ended.

Princess Diana forever in our hearts...Click here for more 90s
We can't think about the 90s without including Princess Diana. From the story book wedding, to the fash bash, to worthy causes and all the tabloid photographers following her every move. The people's princess will be forever in our hearts...even if we don't get into Elton John's music. Diana's voice was silenced August 31, 1997.

This month, LIfe Magazine has a special edition remembering Jackie O, who passed away 25 years ago. Does she belong to the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s? She was always classy, and becme a world-wide celebrity.  Kinda looks a bit Marilyn Monroish on the cover of the Life issue....hmm...never noticed that before.
